>> when I think of winter
it's up, it's up!
my first fic that's longer than 2k words since....... july....... //sweats
this is also where I finally reveal that my giftee is actually my Santa (
ritzfics )'s Santa. \o/ small ship perks, maybe?
despite all the starts and stops and bouts of self-doubt for this piece, I'm really happy that I'm ending off 2017 with this.
I started 2017 with Ages, and am ending it with FHQ. I wonder how I'm going to start next year? (I already know how I'm going to start next year).
nothing much to add since I've pretty much journalled everything that took place the past couple days, but I must confess that I only settled on a story for HQSS after my giftee had posted her own work. So it's a fast work, but it's one that I'm proud of. Especially when set in contrast to Ages, I think it really shows how much I've grown as a writer. :D
also, the [REDACTED] height difference that I was talking about in the previous entry was actually in reference to Makki-Oikawa and Mattsun-Kuroo.
when I came up with the idea to make OiKuro disguise themselves as Matsuhana, I made it based on the fact that Kuroo-Mattsun both have messy black hair, and Oikawa-Makki have lighter hair. but then I looked up their height differences to see if it would be a "significant" change if Matsuhana suddenly became Oikuro, and I was so shocked to find out that Mattsun and Kuroo are 0.2cm apart in height (187.9cm vs 187.7cm), while Makki and Oikawa are 0.4cm apart (184.7cm vs 184.3cm). so even their height difference is proportionate!!! amazing!!!
I also intentionally left the ending open, and left it with the quote from Izumi Shikibu for a reason. I wanted to hint at the whole sense of FHQ being a 'parallel universe', or maybe even a reincarnation au kinda thing. It's hard to say. even I don't have a lot of answers to the questions that Kenji has. but I guess even in this short meeting that spanned barely a day in the story, something's changed for both Oikawa and Futakuchi.
